About
20 years+ experience teaching Pilates in Essendon.
Using a combination of Pilates and DNS, a program is created for each client.
Emily O’Sullivan
I have been teaching Pilates in Essendon for over 20 years, assisting clients using a combination of Pilates and DNS (Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilisation).
A Moonee Valley local, I have established the trust of many Pilates devotees over the years, many for more than a decade.
Pilates is for everyone, from teenagers to those in their 80s and beyond. I love helping everyone feel the benefits: feeling stronger, more mobile and a greater confidence in their body.
Every session is taught by me, which means I know your history, which exercises you love, and what we are working towards.

What is Pilates?
A low-impact exercise system integrating mind and body to strengthen, improve flexibility, enhance alignment, balance, and core stability.
What is DNS?
Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization is a movement rehabilitation exercise system that retrains the central nervous system to restore our body’s natural, efficient movement patterns.
My approach
Slow, then strong
We spend the first sessions establishing control and breath before we add load. Progress is deliberate, and it lasts.
In step with your practitioner
If you are under the care of a health practitioner, we can work together, to best assist your Pilates journey.
One body at a time
All sessions are only 4 clients at a time. Everyone supervised. Everyone working on their own program. Everyone moving in their own time.
What to expect
First contact
A short phone call or email to discuss your needs, goals and how I can help you.
Your first session
Free trial. 1 hour on your own. We take time to discuss any relevant history, a movement assessment to help us get a clear picture of what your body needs, and enough exercise to give you a feel for what we do. Wear something you can move in, grip socks if you have them.
Ongoing
Most clients settle into a weekly or twice weekly slot at the same time each week. We review where things are at regularly.
Honestly, just exceptional. How lucky to have found Emily. For nearly 15 years now, Emily has been my Pilates instructor and helped me through injuries, chronic pain and pregnancies. She has played a pivotal part in my recovery, but also in my day-to-day health and fitness, and life working as a hairdresser. She is caring, easy going and a pleasure to be around. Her knowledge of the body and each individual student's needs and physical struggles are always listened to and tended to with thoughtful, targeted exercises and personalised programs. Couldn't recommend her more highly.
